Job Full Description
We are seeking a versatile IT Specialist to support application development, server/network administration, and end-user technical support. This role is ideal for a problem-solver with expertise in PHP, JavaScript, and SQL who thrives in both development and infrastructure tasks. You’ll maintain web applications, assist with Windows/Linux servers, troubleshoot hardware/networks, and support Office 365 and IoT devices. The IT Administrator will provide on-the-job training, making this a great opportunity to develop your skills in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Application Development & Maintenance
· Assist with developing, troubleshooting, and enhancing internal web applications using PHP, JavaScript, and SQL databases.
· Assist with supporting legacy systems, including Oracle Forms 6i (experience a plus).
· Collaborate with teams to design scalable solutions.
2. Server & Infrastructure Support
· Assist with Windows/Linux server administration (updates, patches, performance tuning).
· Assist with managing virtualization environments (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, LXC).
· Assist with administering Office 365 services (email, accounts, SharePoint, Teams).
3. Network & Hardware Maintenance
· Assist with troubleshooting physical networks (switches, routers, firewalls, VPN).
· Perform hardware repairs/upgrades (desktops, laptops, peripherals).
· Assist with IoT device setup/integration/programming (experience a major plus).
4. User Support & Documentation
· Provide technical support for software, hardware, and network issues.
· Document systems and processes for knowledge sharing.
· Assist the IT Administrator with projects and training.
Requirements:
· Proficient in: PHP, JavaScript, SQL (MySQL/Oracle/Postgres), and web development.
· Experience with:
o Windows/Linux server administration.
o Office 365 management (Exchange Online, security).
o Basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs).
· Hardware troubleshooting skills (desktops, printers, cabling).
· Strong problem-solving and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Knowledge of Oracle Forms 6i (legacy systems).
· Familiarity with IoT devices (Raspberry Pi, sensors, APIs).
· Experience with virtualization (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, Proxmox).
· Certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, MCSA, AWS).

· On-site with occasional after-hours support.
· Mentorship from IT Administrator and hands-on training.
