The Department of Labor has seen an increase in charges from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) of 34% in the past two years with the majority of these involving the improper payment of overtime. It is estimated that up to 90% of employers unknowingly violate the FLSA. Employment law attorneys are projecting payouts up to $1B annually resulting in record payouts for class actions.
