  • Express Gears Up for Second Annual National Interview Day

    OKLAHOMA CITY - August 06, 2019

After Success of Inaugural Event Last Year, Offices Prep with Donuts, Prizes and Plenty of Hiring Expertise

As teachers prepare to welcome students back to the classroom, hundreds of Express Employment Professionals offices across North America are ready to help job seekers return to work as part of the second annual National Interview Day on Thursday, Aug. 8. NationalInterviewDay

National Interview Day was first created by the staffing company and celebrated in 2018 as a new way to recruit and educate job seekers in a historically tight labor market. The event coincides with an annual upswing in seasonal labor needs for Express heading into the latter half of the year.

Participants are encouraged to visit ExpressPros.com/InterviewDay before Aug. 8 and complete an application to expedite the interview process. Applicants will then be contacted for interviews, possibly before Aug. 8, based on the type of work they are seeking and as always with Express, will never be charged a fee.

"National Interview Day was such a success last year, and we look forward to once again matching terrific job seekers with quality companies," said Bill Stoller, Express CEO. "This is a great chance for our expert recruiters to help applicants with a variety of interviewing techniques and more long-term planning like career pathing."

Several Express locations are celebrating the day with fun festivities such as "Interview and Donuts" in the Carrollton, Georgia, office where you can "walk in for an interview and leave with a job and a donut." In west Pittsburg, two Express franchises are offering all-day walk-in interviews and workshops but have also thrown in some fun games and prizes with ice cream and refreshments.

Express offices are also taking over social media via Facebook Live on Aug. 8 starting at 8 a.m. CDT in Newton, Massachusetts, to introduce National Interview Day. Broadcasts will continue at the top of every hour through 5 p.m. CDT and offer insight on the Express interview process, as well as tips to ace an interview including: how to answer common questions, body language awareness, asking questions in an interview, and how to follow-up with hiring managers.  The Facebook Live broadcasts will conclude with the Casper, Wyoming, office at 5 p.m. CDT.

"With more than 20,000 job openings internationally at Express, we are ready and excited to put people to work on our second National Interview Day as part of our ultimate goal of putting a million people to work," Stoller said. "Whether you are looking to switch careers into a hot industry or figuring out where to start in the workforce, this event has something for everyone."
