Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Night Manager for a client of ours in South Baldwin County! The Night Shift Manager will oversee operations on the night shift, ensuring efficient and accurate order pulling, inventory management, and the proper use of RF scanners for tracking and stock movement. This role is critical for ensuring that products are processed, stored, and prepared for distribution in a timely and organized manner. The Night Shift Manager will supervise a team, provide leadership, and ensure that safety standards, quality control, and operational goals are met. Strong skills in inventory management and order pulling, along with hands-on experience using RF scanning technology, are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Night Shift Operations:
- Manage all aspects of night shift operations, ensuring productivity, safety, and efficiency.
- Lead a team of warehouse associates, overseeing tasks related to order pulling, packing, and shipping of produce.
- Delegate tasks to team members, ensuring orders are filled accurately and timely.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Order Pulling & Inventory Management:
- Oversee the order-pulling process, ensuring that produce is picked accurately, in the correct quantities, and without damage.
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring the proper stock is available to fulfill orders while minimizing waste.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and cycle counts, verifying stock accuracy through RF scanners and other systems.
- Maintain proper product rotation, following FIFO (First In, First Out) or LIFO (Last In, First Out) methods as required.
- RF Scanner Operation:
- Ensure that all warehouse staff are properly trained in the use of RF scanners for efficient order pulling, inventory tracking, and stock management.
- Monitor the proper use of RF scanners to ensure accurate data entry for tracking inventory levels and locations.
- Troubleshoot any issues related to RF scanning equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining productivity.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to the night shift team, ensuring a positive and efficient working environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and facilitate training to improve skills in order pulling, inventory, and RF scanning.
- Resolve any conflicts or issues among team members promptly and professionally.
- Quality Control & Safety:
- Ensure that all products meet quality standards and that any damaged or substandard products are identified and segregated.
- Oversee safety protocols, ensuring that the team follows all OSHA regulations and company safety guidelines.
- Monitor the warehouse for potential hazards, ensuring all equipment is maintained and safety equipment is in place.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Provide regular updates to upper management regarding shift performance, inventory levels, and operational challenges.
- Maintain detailed records of night shift activities, including inventory movements, discrepancies, and staff performance.
- Communicate any supply chain, order fulfillment, or product issues to the appropriate departments for resolution.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus).
- At least 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management or supervision, particularly in produce or food distribution.
- Strong experience with order pulling, inventory management, and using RF scanners in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanning technology.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in supervising and training warehouse staff.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position for the night shift, typically 7PM to 6 AM (may vary depending on company needs).
- May require extended hours or weekend work during peak seasons or high-demand periods.
- Physically demanding work, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment (cold storage areas) for extended periods.
Salary: $60k - $70k
