Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Landscape Installer Foreman for a client in South Baldwin County. A Landscape Installer Foreman is a supervisory position responsible for overseeing and coordinating a crew of landscape installation workers on various projects, including planting trees and shrubs, installing hardscapes like patios and retaining walls, laying sod, and managing all aspects of a landscaping project to ensure it's completed on time, within budget, and according to design specifications, while prioritizing safety and quality standards on the job site.
Key responsibilities of a landscape installer foreman:
• Project planning and management: Reading and interpreting landscape design plans, estimating project timelines, and assigning tasks to crew members based on their skills.
• Crew supervision: Leading and motivating the installation team, ensuring proper techniques are used, and addressing any issues that arise during the project.
• Material management: Ordering and managing necessary materials like plants, soil, mulch, pavers, and other landscaping supplies.
• Quality control: Inspecting work regularly to ensure compliance with project specifications and high-quality standards.
• Safety oversight: Enforcing safety protocols on the job site, including proper equipment usage and personal protective gear.
• Client communication: Collaborating with clients to address concerns, provide updates on project progress, and maintain positive relationships.
Required skills and knowledge:
• Extensive knowledge of landscaping practices, including plant identification, proper planting techniques, hardscape installation, and irrigation systems.
• Experience with landscaping equipment operation, such as excavators, skid steers, mowers, and trimmers.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills to manage a team effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and landscape design plans
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to address challenges on the job site
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks like digging, lifting, and planting
• 2-5 years of experience running a 3–4-person crew
• Must be able to operate and maintain all mowers and equipment (to include zero turn mowers).
• Must have knowledge of types of plants, trees, and grasses and be able to identify insects, fungus, and disease.
• Available to work weekends when necessary.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must be dependable and professional.
Salary: $22 - $26 an hour
