Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Trim Carpenter to join our team. As a Trim Carpenter, you will be responsible for crafting, installing, and repairing a variety of interior and exterior woodwork and finish details. Your expertise will enhance the aesthetic and structural quality of our projects, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Precision Woodwork: Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials to create custom trim, moldings, baseboards, wainscoting, crown molding, cabinetry, and other decorative elements.
- Installation: Install doors, windows, staircases, built-ins, and other finish carpentry components with accuracy and efficiency.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine project requirements and ensure precise execution.
- Problem-Solving: Adjust and modify existing woodwork to fit project specifications or address unique challenges on-site.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work to ensure all projects meet company standards and client expectations for quality and precision.
- Tool Management: Use and maintain a variety of hand and power tools, ensuring they are in excellent working condition.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to workplace safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the safe handling of materials and tools.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, general contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure project timelines and goals are met.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Trim Carpenter or similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in measuring, cutting, and assembling trim materials with an exceptional eye for detail.
- Tools: Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of working on your feet for extended periods and lifting/moving materials as required.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills to address challenges during installations.
- Team Player: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Carpentry or a related field.
- Knowledge of various wood types and materials.
- Experience in high-end or custom carpentry projects.
- Familiarity with modern construction and finishing techniques.
