Job Full Description
M-F, 8am-5pm, but may need to come in on the weekend bc of the timeframes the samples have to be reviewed in the incubator.
Need to be aware bc it will happen occasionally. Will only be 30 min to an hour.
$18/hr
Organization and attention to detail is HUGE. Healthcare but preferred pharmaceutical/compounding background is helpful because they'll know the importance of cleanliness. Need knowledge (schooling or work exp) working with microbiology equipment (incubation of samples on a plate). Do not have to be a microbiologist by any means. Just SOME exposure, like a biology class in college, is helpful. Most of the job is teachable if the right candidate can be organized and follow procedures.
- Unbox materials
- Sign in items received and fill out a little paperwork
- Sticking approval sticker and putting them away in appropriate location
- Important that labels are printed correctly on the products (right dosage, info, etc.)
- Operate software for special label printer (will train)
- Monitor printer to make sure labels are printed correctly and keeping track of the number printed; making sure they’re stored correctly
- "Think microbiology type situation" (cleanliness of a doctor going into surgery but not that extreme)
- Will need to gown properly (protective equipment, wash correctly). So someone that has familiarity with this will know the importance
- Go into production rooms and collect samples for microbial growth in the rooms
- Incubate samples in incubator
- Properly identify the types of growths you might see (this one is different from this one; using magnifying glass, is it smooth or is it rough, etc.)
- Identify by circling the unique growths they have, packing them up, sending to 3rd party
- Keep up w/ paperwork until results come back
