Job Title: PLC Maintenance Technician

Pay Range: $60,000-$65,000 annual salary
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance PLC Technician to join our team. This is a multi-craft position requiring the ability to troubleshoot and repair PLC-driven equipment, as well as electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, piping, and electrical systems, following blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings, and using measuring instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC-driven equipment.
- Diagnose, repair, size, wire, and build motor control stop/start circuits with motor protection.
- Troubleshoot, wire, integrate, and program PLCs and AC inverters.
- Wire, integrate, and set up DC rectifiers.
- Troubleshoot and repair sensing and gauging systems with controls and indicators.
- Calculate, size, and distribute electrical loads and size branch circuits.
- Diagnose and repair electronic control board issues.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of machinery and equipment.
- Plan and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machinery, equipment, and buildings.
- Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
- Clean and lubricate machinery parts such as shafts, bearings, and gears.
- Perform welding and sheet metal operations.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Track and document asset time usage.
- Follow all safety and environmental regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Specialized training in PLCs or equivalent work experience.
Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing PLC-driven machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and machine schematics.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiar with welding, electrical components, and controls.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PLCs.
Physical Demands:
- Requires standing, walking, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping.
- Must lift over 60 pounds occasionally and/or 25–60 pounds frequently.
- Ability to move objects in awkward positions over short distances.
- Must be able to maintain alertness while performing tasks.
