Job Description:
Position Overview: The Rebar Fabricator plays a crucial role in our manufacturing process by fabricating and preparing rebar assemblies to meet customer specifications. This role involves reading and interpreting engineering prints, cutting, bending, welding rebar, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of the finished products. The Rebar Fabricator will work collaboratively with the production team to support efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Examine Specifications: Review customer orders, drawings, or blueprints to determine the characteristics of the finished item, required materials, and machine setup requirements.

Rebar Fabrication:
- Pull, cut, bend, and weld rebar assemblies according to Engineering Prints and production schedules.
- Create "Pull-Pins" for the cover casting department.
- Stage rebar material handling skids and storage racks to support production.

Assist in Material Handling:
- Assist rebar benders in placing, separating, lifting, and positioning metal bars for bending operations.
- Reposition work-pieces for initial and subsequent bends.
- Manage dunnage for floor storage and transfer bundled bars to temporary staging areas.
- Tie and bundle finished bent bars for loading operations.

Support Shear Operations:
- Assist shear operators in clearing sheared materials from storage racks.
- Provide stock length rebar for cutting operations.
- Prepare and stage steel bundles for shearing operations.
- Break open bundles, shake out steel bars, and stage them for shearing.

Fabrication:
- Fabricate workpieces as per work specifications, including shearing, bending, auto bonding, and threading.
- Retrieve correct materials and perform various fabrication duties.

Quality Control:
- Examine workpieces visually, by touch, or using measuring tools to ensure they meet desired standards.

Packaging:
- Package finished products for shipping.
- Install protective devices (e.g., bracing, padding, strapping) to prevent damage during transportation.

Work Area Maintenance:
- Maintain the condition of the work area, keeping it free of trash and ensuring products are in the correct location.

Safety:
- Follow company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Other Duties:
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in rebar fabrication or a similar manufacturing role is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering prints or blueprints.
- Knowledge of rebar fabrication processes and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
