Job Title: Treasurer


Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
Location: In-Office

 

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Treasurer to manage and maintain checkbooks for three entities while assisting accountants, processing payroll, overseeing franchise accounting, coordinating employee benefits, and supporting the Tucson office. This role involves preparing monthly reports, approving franchise agreements, handling state agency matters, and creating/updating procedures to ensure efficient financial operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Banking and Financial Management:

  • Oversee all banking activities, including paying bills, managing EFT and inter-company transfers, and maintaining credit lines.
  • Balance bank accounts and conduct regular aging reviews.

Payroll Processing:

  • Process payroll using ADP, ensuring accuracy in commissions, benefits updates, garnishments, and tax deductions.

Franchise Accounting and Compliance:

  • Review franchise statements and manage aging reviews, including creating correspondence to clients and franchisees.
  • Develop and implement procedures for suspensions, claims (court filings, hearings, bank garnishments), and bankruptcy filings.
  • Maintain transaction forms and franchise cards in Excel, tracking business activity for credit purposes.
  • Oversee the sale of franchise procedures, split statements, and change of ownership forms.
  • Prepare and distribute Franchisee 1099s.

Employee Benefits Administration:

  • Serve as a liaison for healthcare and benefits, including updating benefits packets, managing open enrollment, and handling COBRA updates and disability filings.
  • Maintain IRA accounts and provide necessary notices.

Franchise Agreements and Compliance:

  • Review, sign, and seal franchise agreements while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Manage procedures for IRS forms, canceled checks, and franchise eligibility.

State Agency Relations:

  • Handle communication with state agencies (Dept. of Revenue, Labor, Economic Security, IRS, Social Security).
  • Provide wage information and respond to inquiries on behalf of employees and franchise owners.

Administrative Support and Reporting:

  • Support the Tucson office as a liaison for financial and administrative matters.
  • Prepare commission statements and oversee audits (Insurance/Accountants).
  • Manage corporation commission filings, update manuals, and maintain personnel files.
  • Track expenses and company assets, including AMEX accounts and vehicles.
  • Create and update various financial reports and spreadsheets.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in financial management, payroll processing, and franchise accounting.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, ADP, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members across multiple departments.
