Summary
Responsible for independently and proactively managing client accounts. Activities include, but are not limited to, new and renewal sales, marketing, handling client questions and requests, and coverage review.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide in-depth knowledge of insurance coverage and products, staying current on industry updates and changes with service of new and existing clients through cross-selling opportunities, account development, execution of client requests, and problem solving.

Knowledge of Agency Management Systems

Ensure the agency management system is kept up to date

Follow workflows and meet service standards

Capture, assist, and manage the service platform

Occasional outside service visits to the client may be required

Maintain renewal expirations to avoid any lapse in coverage

Responsible for marketing submissions to carriers, including application preparation, loss analysis, and inclusion of other pertinent information for professional, quality new and renewal submissions. Submit to eligible and appropriate carriers and follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotes and policies. Analyze and compare carrier quotes for proper coverages, terms, and conditions. Make insurance program recommendations.

Respond to underwriters' questions in a timely and professional manner

Adhere to Commercial Lines Best Practices—including written confirmation of new and renewal binding, evidence of coverage, changes to coverages, and other related items

Prepare proposals and summaries of insurance as needed

Maintain a high degree of accuracy in the agency management system and documentation within the system

Provide direction to clients in submitting first reports of claims

Identify exposure to loss and recommend appropriate coverages in coordination with Producer/Agent

Be approachable with a positive attitude and always willing to help

Perform other projects or duties as needed

Education and/or Experience
Requires a high school diploma and five years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as open orders, service logs, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must be comfortable with internet-based programs as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Other Skills and Abilities

Experience in Property & Casualty Insurance Agency along with a comprehensive understanding of all Property & Casualty insurance coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.

Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.

Maintain a cordial and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts. Ability to work in a team environment.

Stay informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
