Commercial Credit Underwriter/Portfolio Manager - Law Firm Lending Program Lead
Summary:
A well-established financial institution is seeking an experienced commercial banking professional to analyze and underwrite commercial credit opportunities, including both C&I and commercial real estate relationships. This role involves underwriting and monitoring the internal processes for a specialty asset-based lending program, offering a chance to make an impact on the business community and foster economic growth. This highly visible role requires strong analytical and project management skills while focusing on developing and enhancing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare all required financial spreads, borrowing base reconciliations, compliance measures, and full loan presentations.

Analyze global cash flow for commercial and individual prospects, borrowers, and guarantors to assess financial condition, profitability, repayment ability, and trends.

Evaluate and assign risk ratings according to Loan Policy.

Collaborate with the Commercial Banker to meet with clients, understanding their specific needs.

Complete quarterly problem loan reports and annual loan reviews on each credit assigned.

Input data for quarterly CECL model.

Ensure all underwriting processes are consistent with established policies.

Work closely with internal teams and clients to manage risk effectively and comply with all banking regulations.
Key Competencies:

Strong understanding of commercial and industrial, and commercial real estate transactions.

Ability to analyze financial trends, key drivers, and perform cash flow analysis using UCA and other financial metrics.

Proficient in Excel with the ability to develop templates and evaluate mass tort financing programs.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.

Sound judgment with the ability to articulate decision-making processes.

Skilled in managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent experience.

4 to 10 years of relevant experience.

RMA’s CRC designation is a plus.

Onsite Work Location: Phoenix, Arizona (This is not a remote position).

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
