Summary/Objectives

A Profile operator is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and operating laser cutting, stamping, punching, and other profile equipment. They also may be responsible for troubleshooting any issues that arise and performing routine preventative maintenance on the equipment. Additionally, they may be responsible for training other operators on the proper use and maintenance of the equipment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision equipment are important skills for this role.

Essential Functions

  • Setting up and operating laser cutting, stamping, punching, and other profile equipment according to specifications.
  • Monitoring the machine during operation to ensure it is functioning correctly.
  • Adjusting machine settings to ensure optimal performance and quality of the final product.
  • Performing periodic quality checks.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise with the equipment.
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance on the equipment to ensure it remains in good working condition.
  • Training other operators on the proper use and maintenance of the equipment, as well as operational functions. 
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure machine output meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of production, including quantity, quality, and time.
  • Adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

·        Operate profile machines on various metals and thickness (24ga-1”).

 

·        Follow department SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures).

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and calipers.
  • Ability to consistently utilize assigned locations i.e., staging lanes / shadow boards.
  • Ability to become forklift certified.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and develop new skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must maintain company machines and tools provided.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Lifting and carrying.
  • Wearing personal protective equipment.

 

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to noise, dust, heat, cold, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
