Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 4:00pm
Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Water Plant Operator, you'll perform various duties to operate and maintain water pumping stations, treatment plants, reservoirs, and metering stations. This role involves assisting in water operations and maintenance, and other related tasks as needed.
What You'll Do:
- Water Wizard: Operate and maintain water pump stations, treatment plants, master metering stations, and reservoirs under supervision and training.
- Repair Guru: Perform repairs on pumps, motors, controls, vehicles, lawnmowers, plant facilities, reservoirs, and related equipment.
- On-Call Hero: Be available for on-call duty, work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Lab Technician: Conduct laboratory analysis, sampling, monitoring, calculations, and calibration.
- Maintenance Master: Perform general duties such as painting, mowing, cleaning, and general maintenance.
- Tech Savvy: Operate basic computer functions for SCADA operations and record keeping.
- Compliance Champion: Ensure compliance with Local, State, Federal Regulations, and POA Policies and Procedures.
- Safety Star: Follow safety compliance policies and procedures.
- Flexible Worker: Work after hours and weekends when necessary.
- Knowledge Seeker: Maintain knowledge of water pumps, motors, reservoirs, tanks, and water treatment plant operations.
- Skill Developer: Develop skills in sampling, monitoring, and analysis, and adhere to safety precautions.
- Round Performer: Perform rounds on all shifts to ensure proper functioning of the plant.
What We're Looking For:
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Availability: Must be reachable and available for emergency call-outs.
- Education: High School diploma or GED.
- Math Skills: Basic math skills, including the ability to use formulas related to volumes, areas, percent, dosages, and time.
- License: Valid Arkansas Driver’s License.
- Certification: Must possess an Arkansas Grade I Water Treatment Operator License or higher.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to operate and maintain vehicles, equipment, and tools for Utility O&M functions.
Work Environment:
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
- Essential: Yes. Employees are required to work when an office closing is authorized.
