Job Title: Rice Grader

Location: Wynne, AR 

Job Summary: The Rice Grader is responsible for inspecting, grading, and classifying rice to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications. This role involves assessing various factors such as size, color, shape, and defect levels of rice to determine its grade and suitability for sale or further processing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Rice Inspection:

   • Inspect rice samples for quality and consistency using specialized equipment and manual methods.
   • Evaluate rice based on criteria such as size, shape, color, moisture content, and presence of foreign materials or defects.

2. Grading and Classification:

   • Classify rice into different grades according to established standards and specifications.
   • Document and record grading results accurately for inventory and quality control purposes.

3. Quality Control:

   • Ensure rice meets industry standards and company quality requirements.
   • Identify and report any quality issues or deviations from standards to management.

4. Equipment Operation:

   • Operate and maintain grading equipment, including sieves, sorters, and moisture meters.
   • Perform regular calibration and maintenance to ensure accurate and efficient operation.

5. Data Management:

   • Maintain accurate records of grading results and related data.
   • Prepare reports on rice quality, grading statistics, and any issues encountered.

6. Safety and Compliance:

   • Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines while performing grading tasks.
   • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards.

7. Collaboration:

   • Work closely with other team members, including production and quality control staff.
   • Communicate effectively with suppliers and customers regarding rice quality and grading outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certification in food quality or agricultural sciences is a plus.
• Experience: Previous experience in rice grading or a similar quality control role is preferred.
• Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to assess rice quality accurately.
  • Proficiency in operating grading equipment and performing basic maintenance.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry moderate weights 
• Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Working Conditions:

• Work in a warehouse or processing facility environment.
• Exposure to varying temperatures and dust.
