We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Technical Support Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for providing information system administration, monitoring, technical support, and troubleshooting for our wide area network (WAN) across a six-county area, with primary operations in Texarkana, AR. The successful candidate will be proactive in ensuring network security, diagnosing and resolving technology issues, and delivering excellent support to end-users in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Monitoring & Security: Monitor the WAN for any security vulnerabilities or issues, ensuring the integrity and performance of network systems.
- Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Diagnose and resolve technology issues related to network connectivity, workstations, printers, and software applications. Provide direct support to employees within the service area.
- Client/Server Administration: Install, configure, and maintain client/server hardware and software, ensuring smooth operations and resolving technical problems as they arise.
- Database & System Management: Manage database administration, support Active Directory, and ensure the proper functioning of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Hardware Repairs: Provide minor hardware repairs on workstations, printers, and network equipment as necessary.
- Training: Participate in training sessions for end-users on new systems, software upgrades, and other technological changes.
- Collaboration: Work independently and as part of a team to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Collaborate with employees, management, and business associates, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical backgrounds.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows server environments and networks.
- Strong understanding of routers, switches, IP addresses, and subnet masks.
- Experience with network troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Familiarity with database administration and Active Directory.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to provide minor hardware repairs.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with networking devices and configurations.
- Familiarity with additional operating systems or technical environments.
