Position: Accounts Payable Clerk
Location: Texarkana, TX
Hours: M-F, 8-5
Pay: $16-20/hour
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounts payable processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As an AP Clerk, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable functions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for payment in a timely manner.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing checks and electronic payments to vendors.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
- Collaborate with department heads and vendors to resolve payment issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and manage aging reports to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
- Assist with month-end closing and reporting, including preparing AP reports.
- File and organize AP records and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies and accounting best practices.
- Provide assistance with other accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or similar role required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
