Express Employment of Downey is currently seeking a HEADER OPERATOR for a aerospace fastener manufacturer in the city of Paramount, CA.
*PREVIOUS HEADER OPERATOR EXPERIENCE MUST REFLECT ON RESUME OR APP*
Schedule: MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, 5AM to 3PM (10 HOUR SHIFTS) + SATURDAY 5AM to 1PM (8 HOUR SHIFT)
Pay: $28.00 an hour
Employment Type: temp to permanent hire, long-term
Job Responsibilities:
- Tear down, set up and operate multiple product lines to specified tolerances of hot or cold headers or trimmers to produce metal parts
- Conduct first run inspection and periodic quality checks
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment including cleaning, lubricating, adding fluids, check air pressure and oil levels
- Install cold heading tools in machines
- Set up and install various support equipment
- Compute feed length and progression to produce quality parts
- Establish processing parameters and set monitoring equipment to ensure processing parameters are maintained to produce quality parts
- Read measuring equipment such as shadowgraphs, micrometers, calipers, and related equipment
- Perform minor die repairs and modifications to include sharpening and adjustments to maintain integrity of parts
- Run wire through machine
- Move stock to and from machine
- Move containers of finished parts
Skills
- 5+ years' experience as a header man
- Must be able to read blueprints, mechanical drawings and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerance, number or parts to be checked
- Strong ability to use measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers, calipers, comparators)
- Fluent English REQUIRED (but bilingual is a PLUS)
- Ability consistently lift up to 40 pounds
