Job Description for HEAVY WINDING OPERATOR
We are hiring a heavy winding operator that can work on winding coils, toroids, bobbins and tubes using various winding equipment with different sizes of magnetic wires and in accordance with work instructions for a local manufacturing company of electronic components.
Key Responsibilities:

Review manufacturing traveler and verify specified winding requirements such as wire size, number of turns, kind of tape, etc.

Determine what mandrel, arbor, and the winding machine is appropriate for the specific job.

Preparation of magnet wire, insulation paper, and tapes used in winding.

Follow instructions in accordance with the manufacturing drawing specification.

Ensure that the first piece part is accomplished, verified, and inspected prior to winding the whole lot.

Strip the end of magnet wires of completed parts for test purposes.

Submit the completed lot to their supervisor for visual inspection for nick, kink, scratches, and coil dimensions.

Maintain and clean the winding machine and surrounding areas after use.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) six months of related experience or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must have the mental and visual ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
- Must have the mental ability to perform basic mathematics.
- Ability to communicate effectively, and work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral.
- Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment; must be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected event
Safety:
- Must have the physical ability to perform this job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or others.

Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, or other garments or equipment to protect the employee’s body from injury or infection as required by the operation.

Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions of equipment.

Ensure compliance with employee health and wellbeing programs.

Inspect machinery, manufacturing area, and safety equipment to find and correct potential hazards.

Ensure compliance with environmental and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

Ensure that employees are aware of the location of the MSDS binder (Material Safety Data Sheet) and is available when needed.

Ensure equipment are in good condition and safe to use.
