Job Full Description

Express is hiring a Customer Service Representative for the finance department of a local quasi-government agency.  This is a full-time position that will go long-term with the client after an evaluation period. It is a great foot in the door for future career steps!  

 

Key Tasks

  • Provides excellent customer service face-to-face at the front counter, by phone, and via email
  • Answer the telephone, respond to customer service calls, or direct calls to the appropriate department
  • Receives and processes service requests
  • Receives and responds to complaints about service; resolves a variety of problems related to service, delinquent accounts, activations, and improper billing
  • Receives and processes billing payments
  • Prepare invoices
  • Reconcile cash drawer and prepare deposits
  • Assists accounts receivable and accounts

Key Traits

  • Math skills for payment calculation
  • History of regular attendance  and adherence to a prescribed work schedule
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, outside agencies, and the public
  • Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm and use of 10 key by touch
  • An understanding of basic bookkeeping
  • Great customer service skills

Additional Preferred Experience

  • Business writing
  • Electronic filing system experience 
  • Data processing
  • History researching payment and billing discrepancies
  • Basic education in bookkeeping or a year or more of related experience

Testing

Candidates interested in this position will be asked to complete testing for Word, Excel, typing, and 10-key.

 

Schedule

Regular working hours for office workers and management personnel is Monday through Friday; 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. with a one-hour staggered lunch break. On occasion, irregular or extended work hours may be required.

 

Compensation

Pay is $19.84/hour to start.  While on Express's payroll during the evaluation period, employees will have access to the Express benefits package. After an evaluation period when this position transitions onto the Client's payroll the following benefits will be available from the client:
