What You'll Do:

  • Hunt for New Business: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Build Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understand their staffing needs, and provide tailored solutions.
  • Achieve Targets: Meet and exceed weekly sales targets, making at least 120 sales touches per week.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with our recruitment team to ensure client needs are met with the best candidates.
  • Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with industry trends and market conditions to provide clients with the most relevant information.

  • Teachable: Highly teachable and willing to learn the Express system and tools.
  • Tech Savvy: Effectively use a Client Relations Management (CRM) tool and other tech tools to manage a sales pipeline.
  • Sales Mindset: If you have the right attitude, energy, and motivation, prior sales experience is not required.
  • Excellent Communicator: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relationship Builder: Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Self-Motivated: Driven to achieve and exceed targets with minimal supervision.
  • Organized: Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Resilient: Understands and embraces that “no” is not personal rejection but “not right now.”

ADDITIONAL SPECIFICS

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $45K plus commission with a minimum guarantee of $500/month commission during the first 12 months.
  • Unlimited Commission Potential: The right person will have high expectations for themselves and exceed the minimum guarantee!

Schedule

  • Work Hours: At least 40 hours per week with some flexibility in scheduling.
  • Community Engagement: More than 50% of your time will be spent connecting with businesses in person throughout the community. The Business Developer represents Express at several events per month, including after hours (e.g., chamber mixers).
  • Work-Life Balance: We recognize the importance of work-life balance and offer some flexibility to support your life.

Tasks

  • Make 120 or more sales calls per week
  • Make 70 decision-maker connections weekly
  • Conduct 10 face-to-face appointments weekly
  • Represent the company at community events
  • Plan sales activity strategically and coordinate with the team, owner, and manager for success
  • Maintain clear and consistent documentation of sales activity daily in established tools
  • Build relationships with business partners and community recruiting partners

Requirements

  • It is essential that the Business Developer have a vehicle and valid driver's license.  Mileage is reimbursed.
