Job Full Description
Express is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. Plant Maintenance Mechanics are essential to ensuring that all equipment is maintained in a safe, sanitary, and efficient condition. This role requires staying up to date on new products, equipment, technology, and techniques.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing both planned and unplanned maintenance on production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems.
- Be readily available for emergency repairs during breakdown situations.
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Support line manufacturing systems.
- Maintain clear communication with other departments, management, and employees regarding any issues that may affect production efficiency.
- Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by reporting low supply levels to the Supervisor.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Adhere to all required work safe practices, including lockout-tagout requirements, PPE use in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, and fall restraints.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; Formal Engineering/Maintenance Training desired.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with one or more technical experiences: Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC, and HVAC.
- Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and independently take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment downtime.
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for virtually the entire shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
