Maintenance Mechanic
MONDAY - SUNDAY 12AM - 8:30AM
MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR OT AND FLEXIBLE TO WORK VARYING START TIMES
$30-$35/HR
Essential Job Functions
Preventive Maintenance:
- Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions effectively.
Problem Identification:
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and listening for anomalies.
- Use precision measuring and testing instruments to pinpoint issues.
Repair and Replacement:
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and various hand and power tools.
- Examine form and texture to identify areas of concern.
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used components with precision measuring instruments.
Adjustments and Control:
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
Electrical Maintenance:
- Replace faulty electrical elements of machines, including motors, relays, and switches.
- Set up sensing mechanisms and address electrical wiring issues within the facility.
Fabrication and Inventory Management:
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock levels, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
Resource Conservation:
- Conserve maintenance resources by judiciously utilizing equipment and supplies.
Communication and Reporting:
- Provide mechanical maintenance information by addressing questions and requests.
- Prepare detailed mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Technical Knowledge and Team Coordination:
- Maintain technical knowledge by participating in educational workshops and staying updated on industry best practices.
- Ensure continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Safety and Compliance:
- Install conduit and wiring, work with 3-phase, 480 voltage systems.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure finished products meet or exceed all regulatory, industry, and customer requirements for food safety and quality.
- Maintain all GFSI, HACCP, and food defense systems.
Continuous Improvement and Supervision:
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
- Execute equipment installations to support production needs.
- Coordinate employee schedules and provide disciplinary action as needed.
- Train others in safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment.
Requirements/Other Skills/Abilities
Experience:
- Over 4 years of experience in a related role, showcasing mastery in equipment maintenance.
Technical Skills:
- Robust technical understanding for effective problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of PLCs, CAD, pneumatics, hydraulics, blueprints, and schematics.
Personal Attributes:
- Adaptable and resilient, capable of navigating uncertainties with composure and agility.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Exemplary attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and maintenance procedures.
- Proven track record of supervising direct reports and providing guidance and support.
Flexibility and Urgency:
- Flexible and versatile, capable of adapting to evolving priorities and dynamic work environments.
- Operate with a strong sense of urgency, efficiently addressing maintenance needs and minimizing downtime.
Language Skills:
- Fluency in either Spanish or English is required; bilingual proficiency is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hair nets, gloves, and safety water-resistant shoes.
- Withstand varied temperatures for extended periods.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices as trained during orientation.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
