Monday - Friday - Day Shift
Overview: Fairfield Company seeking dedicated, motivated individuals to join our fast-growing team. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life through high-quality, human-grade foods, treats, and supplements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspection & Documentation: Conduct thorough physical and visual inspections of products and systems, and meticulously document your findings.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Actively identify potential issues across all operations phases and take corrective actions when necessary. Alert appropriate personnel, segregate non-conforming products, and report results to management.
- Calibration Checks: Ensure the accuracy of monitoring and measuring devices like thermometers and scales.
- Pre-Operation Inspections: Perform pre-operational inspections and verifications (ATP) before shifts or after cleaning and sanitation.
- Preventative Control/Critical Control Point: Conduct hourly PC and CCP checks, and respond to problems swiftly and efficiently.
- Finished Product Quality: Verify that packaging, product, and labeling meet all specifications. Collect samples for testing, conduct physical release of finished products, and manage product holds.
- Data Management: Utilize ERP systems, web-based lab submissions, and spreadsheets. Be open to learning new methods and procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to FDA and FSMA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and other food safety, quality, and security guidelines. Follow all health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Organizational & Communication Skills: Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are a must.
- Adaptability: Be flexible, even-tempered, a good mediator, and persuasive. Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to interpret basic technical instructions and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Computer Skills: Competency in MS Word and Excel is preferred.
- Training & Certification: HACCP trained or PCQI certified (training available if needed).
- Problem-Solving: Ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts.
- Reliability: Excellent work and attendance record. Be prepared for a flexible schedule, including some Saturdays.
- Work Environment: Comfortable working in a wet and cold environment.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a food safety and quality position within a USDA/FDA/FSQA-related facility.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and understand English.
