Job Full Description

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join a local property management team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Yardi software and a strong background in accounting. This role involves managing financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting the overall financial operations of our property portfolio.

 

Pay: $20-$22 an hour

M-F 

8am-5pm

Temporary to Evaluation to hire

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Yardi Software: Efficiently manage property accounting tasks using Yardi, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, manage ledgers, and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support property management operations.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of tenant and vendor contracts, lease agreements, and payment histories.
  • Expense Management: Collaborate with property managers and maintenance teams to track and manage property expenses.
  • Rent Collection: Ensure timely and accurate rent collection, post payments, and handle tenant inquiries regarding their accounts.
  • Monthly Statements: Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements and reports to property owners and stakeholders.
  • Audit Support: Assist in annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform filing, data entry, and maintain organized records to support the accounting department.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Yardi software preferred.
  • Strong understanding of property accounting principles.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy and efficiency in data entry and record-keeping.
