Job Title: Production Supervisor

 

The Production Supervisor oversees and directs the production team and plant operations to ensure efficient and safe production processes. This role is responsible for managing production from raw ingredient intake to the final packaging of products, continuously improving workflows, monitoring processes, and ensuring quality control. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor ensures that all products meet stringent safety, quality, and hygiene standards, producing top-quality juices, purees, concentrates, aromas, and essential oils.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:

    • Lead, train, and mentor the production team, setting schedules, assigning work, and developing team members to optimize productivity.
    • Foster a collaborative team environment, serving as a positive role model and reinforcing a culture of safety and quality.
  • Production Oversight:

    • Oversee daily plant operations, focusing on efficiency, safety, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Maintain accurate documentation for production, equipment maintenance, and team performance.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Continuously assess production processes, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
    • Capture, record, and manage data on production outputs, implementing corrective actions when needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including OSHA, CFIA, HACCP, SQF, and GMP, to maintain safe and compliant operations.
    • Conduct audits, evaluate metrics, and implement solutions for any identified issues or complaints.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of production metrics, safety drills, and compliance checks.
    • Regularly report on production activities and suggest improvements to the Plant Manager.
  • Equipment Maintenance:

    • Oversee the care, maintenance, and proper operation of all facility equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5+ years as a Production Supervisor in food production, ideally in the juice, beverage, or dairy industry.
    • 8+ years in a food production environment, with expertise in fruit and vegetable processing systems and safety compliance.
  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
    • HACCP Certification preferred, with forklift certification beneficial.
  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish preferred.
