Manual Machinist

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Setting up and operating conventional machines, as well as potentially working with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, to manufacture parts according to meticulous blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Diligently studying blueprints, sketches, and other technical documents to determine precise dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements for the finished workpiece.
  • Utilizing advanced precision measuring instruments to measure, mark, and meticulously scribe dimensions and reference points on materials or workpieces, providing accurate and reliable guidance for subsequent machining processes.
  • Selecting, aligning, and securely fastening holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on various machines such as mills, lathes, drills, grinders, and saws with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Safely initiating and closely observing machine operations to promptly detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, promptly adjusting machine controls or control media as necessary to maintain impeccable precision.
  • Thoroughly verifying the conformance of finished workpieces to exacting specifications, utilizing advanced precision measuring instruments to ensure uncompromising accuracy and adherence to our stringent quality standards.
  • Conducting comprehensive trial runs on machines to meticulously verify the accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data, leaving no room for error.
  • Carefully verifying dimensions and alignment of assemblies using an array of precise measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks, ensuring flawless integrity.
  • Completing and meticulously maintaining all required paperwork, records, and documentation, providing a comprehensive record of every operation and maintaining the highest standards of accountability.
  • Exemplifying a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace, practicing impeccable housekeeping and adhering to proper waste disposal procedures in strict accordance with safety and environmental policies.
  • Assisting with additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by our esteemed management team, embracing a flexible and proactive approach to supporting the overall success of the organization.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques, reflecting your deep understanding of the intricacies of machining processes.
  • Proven ability to expertly install machined replacement parts in complex mechanisms, machines, and equipment, meticulously testing the operation of each unit to ensure optimal functionality and superior performance.
  • Willingness to master the operations of multiple jigs/fixtures and adeptly rotate jobs to meet our standard rates and schedules, displaying exceptional adaptability and a commitment to maintaining peak productivity.
  • A keen eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to precision, enabling you to work at a reasonable pace while maintaining the highest quality standards and ensuring timely completion of every task.
