Glendale, CA
Full time – Temp to hire
Monday thru Friday – 8am to 5pm
$48,500 to $54,000 depending on experience.
High end architectural firm in Glendale is looking for an Architectural Drafter to join their team.
Summary: Seeking an experienced Architectural Drafter to collaborate with other architects to create designs for our commercial and residential construction projects according to client specifications. Our ideal candidate has a degree in architectural drafting and experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, and other computer-aided design programs. A certificate from the American Design Drafting Association is a plus. Ideal candidate would also be proficient in Photoshop, have some Revit experience. Must have been involved in interfacing with consultants (structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing), can put construction documents together, has worked with cities and the plan check process. CAD proficient other computer program skills a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create full-scale and detailed designs of buildings and interiors from an architect’s rough drawings.
- Studies building codes and regulations and determines how they will affect architectural designs.
- Organizes structural, electrical, and mechanical designs.
- Draws plans for foundations, buildings, and structures based on instructions provided by engineers and architects.
- Visits jobsites to gather data needed to complete designs.
- Determines the types of materials needed and calculates the quantity to be ordered.
- Working with an architect, generates costs estimates, contracts, and other documents required for individual projects.
- Discuss the scope and expectations of the project with clients.
- Collaborate with other architects on the team to determine the initial design.
- Submit the design to the client for feedback and update it as necessary.
- Analyze your design to ensure it meets client specifications before submitting a final version.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Associate degree in architectural drafting.
- Certificate from American Design Drafting Association (preferred)
- Excellent math and communication skills.
- Must be able to work well on a team.
- Proficiency with common drafting programs.
