Quality Control Inspector Lead
Chatsworth, CA
Full time – Temp to hire
Monday thru Friday – 7am to 4pm
$22hr to $30hr depending on experience
Busy manufacturer/distributor of lighting solutions for the medical & Veterinary industries is looking for a Quality Control Inspector Lead to join their team in Chatsworth.
Summary: Directly responsible for scheduling, and monitoring inspection activities in the area of In-Process, and Final Inspection of components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies per MMS procedures to ensure product meets design specifications and quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule work assignments for In-process and Final inspection activities.
- Train inspection staff as required, generate training records as required.
- Perform all duties listed below as required in support of the department needs.
- Utilize electrical and mechanical measuring devices and visually inspect to verify compliance of components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies to drawings and product specifications.
- Inspect labeling to verify correct information, placement, and correlation to accompanying documents.
- Control non-conforming or discrepant material, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and placing in quarantine or staging areas per procedure.
- Enter measurement data and other required information into company data base such as logs, forms, checksheets, etc.
- Write and maintain detailed inspection procedures, work instructions, and checklists to ensure clear, consistent inspection criteria are available and followed.
- Review and update inspection documentation to reflect changes in drawings, specifications, or customer requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and QA to develop or revise inspection procedures as needed.
- Report problems to the QA/RA Director immediately.
- Conduct quality control activities in a safe and orderly manner following company safety rules and policies at all times.
- Offer suggestions for improving quality, safety, and efficiency of company operations.
- Must be able to read, understand, and write in English, due to the nature of the procedures, documentation, forms, logs, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by the QA/RA Director or Upper Management
- Must understand Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, Departmental Goals and all procedures that affect the Quality Assurance Department.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with industry standards related to quality control, including FDA regulations and HACCP principles.
- Proficient in using various measuring tools, including micrometers and coordinate measuring machines.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Experience in fabricating products or components is a plus.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and practices related to QA/QC is highly desirable.
