Medical Biller
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour / DOE
Monday Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
A a leading pharmaceutical company in the city of Whittier is looking for a Medical Biller to join the Finance team. This role will be responsible for accurately posting and reconciling payments, handling patient statements, and working with insurance payors and PBMs to ensure all payments are processed in a timely and accurate manner. Medical Biller Responsibilities:
- Post insurer, PBM, and patient payments to CPR+ and PK Compounder systems.
- Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for accurate payment posting and denial management.
- Submit and process secondary insurance claims.
- Process patient statements and address patient payment inquiries and follow-ups.
- Review and reconcile payment reports, ensuring all payments are matched correctly.
- Process electronic remittance files (835) for payment posting.
- Investigate and resolve unapplied or unidentified payments.
- Balance payment batches with bank deposits at the end of the day.
- Use payor portals to download remittance advices and check claim statuses.
Medical Biller Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional medical billing/collections training is a plus.
- At least 1 year of experience in payment posting or medical billing.
- Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and medical/pharmacy terminology is highly desired
- Proficiency in payment posting software.
- Familiarity with 835 files or electronic remittance advice.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to research and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle patient inquiries and concerns with a customer-focused approach.
