Express Employment of Long Beach is hiring Riggers with wire rope fabrication experience for a growing local company. Opportunity for full time hire with benefits and bonuses.
POSITION – Rigger, Wire Rope Fabrication
LOCATION: Long Beach area
RATE: $18-$22/hr.
HOURS: Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm
A Wire Rope/Chain Assembler and Fabricator is responsible for the production of assemblies that are used all over the world in nearly every level of manufacturing.
RIGGER JOB DUTIES:
- Calculate wire rope cut lengths, fitting requirements
- Splicing wire robe and fabricating chain slings
- Understanding and operation of industrial swaging machines, proof testing machines, and forklifts (Training is provided)
- Attach proper tags and labels to products
- Assist with steel cables & chains
- Cut to specific length, place correct connections on ends
- Push, pull, lifts heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Fabrication, cutting, assembly of cables
- Secures materials, tools & supplies, assists with rigging
- Oils and cleans machinery & equipment
- Use hand & power tools, machine shop press / cutters
- Drive forklift and company vehicles
RIGGER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must pass background check and drug test
- Bilingual preferred (English & Spanish)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Forklift experience
- Prior experience in the construction, equipment or oil industry is preferred.
- Mechanically inclined, use of hand and power tools
- Ability to stand on feet 7-8 hours
- Requires hand and arm strength for pulling, lifting, etc.
- Ability to learn equipment & processes
- Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50lbs
- Proficient at math and reading
- Must be able to accurately read a tape measure or digital micrometer.
- Must be persistent, energetic, and reliable.
