Job Title: Legal Medical Coordinator

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Medical Coordinator to join our personal injury law firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing medical records, coordinating with healthcare providers, and supporting attorneys in preparing cases. This role requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Records Management: Collect, organize, and maintain medical records for personal injury cases. Ensure all records are complete and up-to-date.

  • Coordination with Healthcare Providers: Communicate with doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers to obtain necessary medical documentation and information.

  • Case Preparation Support: Assist attorneys in preparing medical summaries, timelines, and other case-related documents. Provide support during trial preparation.

  • Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding their medical treatment and records. Provide updates and answer any questions related to their medical care.

  • Billing and Invoicing: Review and process medical bills and invoices. Ensure accurate and timely payment of medical expenses.

  • Compliance: Ensure all medical records and communications comply with HIPAA regulations and other legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical or legal setting, preferably in personal injury law.

  • Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, proficiency in medical terminology, and familiarity with legal procedures.

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and legal case management software.
