Part-Time Teacher
$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, One day 1:30pm-6pm.
A nonprofit organization in Culver City is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Teacher to join the team. This position involves instructing children in activities designed to promote their social, physical, and intellectual growth. The teacher will work alongside the site supervisor to develop and implement a child care curriculum and will be responsible for supervising and managing up to 14 children in the classroom. Part-Time Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan, supervise, and implement the Adeste program curriculum for the site.
- Tailors activities to the needs, interests, special talents, and individual styles of the children.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the classroom, and maintain a safe, healthy environment.
- Assist the site supervisor in the supervision of children and the supervision of the Child Care Teacher Aide.
- Assist with the preparation and service of snacks.
- Attend all staff meetings and any recommended training programs.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, assisting in completing the Adeste parent contract when needed.
- Operate the program in compliance with California Department of Education & Community Care Licensing regulations.
- Perform other related duties as required to support the program’s success and growth.
Part-Time Teacher Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- 12 ECE semester/quarter units and 6 months of experience working with children in a licensed or comparable child care setting.
- Valid Infant and Adult CPR & Pediatric First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
- Child Development Teacher Permit or Child Care Associate Teacher Permit preferred.
- Must be able to plan and implement curriculum tailored to children's needs, and provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with children, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work as part of a team, supervise children and staff, and follow licensing regulations.
