Job Full Description

We are seeking an experienced manual machinist to join our team to assist us on performing repairs and making modifications to parts associated with water pumps, wells, and electric motors.

Tasks will include but not be limited to the following: straightening and facing shafts, balancing parts, cutting key ways and keys, making adapters plates and collars, altering outside and inside dimensions on shafts and collars, threat cutting, repairing bearing surfaces and making new smooth bearings, repairing housings, and making new complete shafts.

Responsibilities:

 

· Set up and operate manual milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment to produce parts with precision.

· Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand machining requirements.

· Select appropriate tools, materials, and speeds for each job, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in machining processes.

· Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.

· Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure proper functioning and longevity.

· Inspect finished products for accuracy and conformance to specifications, making adjustments as needed.

· Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and optimize machining processes.

· Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.

· Maintain detailed records of machining activities, including job times, materials used, and any issues encountered.

· Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience/Requirements/qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or apprenticeship is a plus.

· Proven experience as a Manual Machinist, demonstrating proficiency in operating milling machines, lathes, and related equipment.

· Strong understanding of engineering drawings and precision measurement tools.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials up to 50lbs and operate machinery.

· Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in a machining environment.

· Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Ability to speak and read English fluently.
