Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Plan events that encourage socialization and community involvement, ensuring participation from all residents.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to assess residents' needs and preferences for activities.
- Provide support and companionship to residents during activities, fostering a positive environment.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback on activities for continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input.
- Assist in managing schedules for activities to ensure smooth execution and adequate staffing.
- Stay informed about aging issues and dementia care practices to provide appropriate support.
Qualifications
- Experience in memory care or dementia care is preferred.
- Background in event planning or social work is highly desirable.
- Previous caregiving experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents of varying cognitive abilities.
- Knowledge of aging issues counseling is beneficial.
- Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
