Job Title: Bookkeeper - Certified Payroll (Construction/Concrete Company)
Location: Galt, CA
Position Type: Full-time
Compensation: $24-$31/hour DOE
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper with a strong background in Certified Payroll for the construction industry, specifically in concrete work. The ideal candidate will have experience using Sage Software for accounting and payroll functions. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, obtaining insurance information, and managing financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage Certified Payroll in compliance with construction industry standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in Sage Software.
- Seek out and verify insurance documentation for projects and vendors.
- Perform general bookkeeping tasks such as entering transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal labor and wage laws.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to maintain smooth financial operations.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and certified payroll within the construction industry (concrete experience preferred).
- Proficiency in Sage Software is required.
- Ability to seek out and manage insurance documentation.
- Strong understanding of construction payroll compliance and reporting.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Spanish-speaking preferred, but not required.
