Job Full Description
Job Summary: A Mill-Turn Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining mill-turn CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to manufacture precision parts. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate mill-turn CNC machines to produce high-quality parts according to specifications.
- Interpret CNC programs, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot machine errors.
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine machining operations.
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments; perform routine machine maintenance.
- Monitor production processes for efficiency and adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience operating CNC mill-turn machines (e.g., Mazak, Okuma, Haas, or similar brands).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of CNC programming (G-code, M-code) is a plus.
