Maintenance Technician Level 4 – (Expert-Level) Equipment & Facility Repair
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician Level 4. This expert-level role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and electronic diagnostics, as well as repair and rebuild expertise. Under minimal supervision, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining all types of equipment in the facility, providing leadership to lower-level technicians, and ensuring the overall functionality of our production equipment.
As a Level 4 Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the operational efficiency of our facility. This is an ideal opportunity for a highly skilled technician who is eager to contribute their knowledge and lead a team of maintenance professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety & Compliance: Work safely under functional safety guidelines, including PPE and equipment interaction protocols.
- Repair & Maintenance: Perform all levels of equipment repair and maintenance across the facility, ensuring high standards of safety and quality.
- Troubleshooting: Expertly troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, performing diagnostics and implementing solutions for complex issues.
- PLC Programming & Calibration: Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) for various production equipment.
- Team Leadership: Lead and provide guidance to lower-level maintenance team members. Offer training and support to ensure high performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime, ensuring equipment is operational and meeting production needs.
- Vendor Interaction: Interface with external vendors and contractors for specialized equipment repairs and facility improvements.
- Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment in compliance with 6S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) principles.
- Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned or requested, contributing to the smooth operation of the maintenance department.
Required Skills:
- Mechanical, Electrical & Hydraulic Systems: Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Controls & Interfaces: Expertise in control systems, interfaces, and troubleshooting methods.
- Technical Documentation: Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions, blueprints, schematics, and basic prints.
- Basic Computer Skills: Ability to navigate the intranet and utilize basic computer applications for documentation and process management.
- Leadership & Teamwork: Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide guidance, training, and support to the maintenance team. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Planning & Organizing: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Dependability & Responsibility: Highly reliable, able to follow instructions, complete tasks on time, and take responsibility for actions and decisions. Committed to long hours when necessary to meet goals.
- Hazardous Materials Handling: Training in hazardous materials handling may be required.
- Forklift Safety Certification: Must complete PCC’s Forklift Driving Safety Certification, if not already certified.
- Hazardous Waste Management Training: May be required to complete additional training for hazardous waste management.
Experience & Education:
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and production equipment.
- Education: GED or high school diploma preferred but not required.
- PLC Programming: Experience with PLC programming is preferred, but not mandatory.
