Job Full Description
Summary: Technician will work under direct supervision, will perform basic duties such read and understand mechanical drawings, clean equipment with basic cleaning supplies, clean production areas using motorized floor polishing equipment, assemble furniture or basic equipment and paint (walls, equipment and flooring), using basic mechanical or powered hand tools, ( i.e. wrenches, drills, etc.) Typically, 3 years of experience and evidence of mechanical aptitude.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work Safely Under functional safety guidelines using PPE and interacting with Machinery, Hand Tools, and Power Tools
- Daily audit to assure all WIP/Production is correctly labeled
- Assemble tool boxes with 6S Shadow boarding
- Assemble and install replacement work benches in Heading and other departments as needed
- Install wall/barrier in Plating Line and Waste Water treatment Lines
- Read mechanical drawings to affix Arc Flash Labels
- Read mechanical drawings to affix Pipe Labels
- Install Rag Storage Solutions at all work stations
- Depending upon quotes from contractors, will work to install WIP lines in areas of production or work with contractor for finishing work and floor maintenance
- Using a Floor Polishing Machine, Maintain Floors every other day recording time it takes to clean to assist in developing long term assignment of job responsibility
- Paint Stairs and Handrails Yellow – including the Heading Machines platforms and plating line railings
- Clean and Paint Fork-Lifts, and maintain safety features on forklifts
- Assemble and install Floor protection/barrel moving devices
- Repaint and Maintain machine guarding on lathes, mills and tappers
- Worker paint Headers, Tappers and Oven tunnels, or work with contractor for finishing work.
- Install Box Storage Solution in packaging area and Hand Assembly
- General Maintenance with 6S Manager – (i.e. Supporting ladder while pipe labels and other visual cues are installed)
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawing
