Job Summary: The Metal Polisher will be responsible for finishing and polishing metal parts, components, or products to achieve a smooth, glossy, and professional appearance. This role requires proficiency in using various polishing tools, machines, and compounds to prepare metal surfaces for further processing, assembly, or sale.
Key Responsibilities:
· Use polishing tools, including hand grinders, buffing machines, and power sanders, to smooth and polish metal surfaces.
· Inspect metal parts for defects, scratches, or other imperfections, and make necessary adjustments to meet quality standards.
· Apply polishing compounds, abrasives, or other materials to achieve the desired finish on metal surfaces.
· Work with various metals such as steel, aluminum, brass, and other alloys, depending on the project requirements.
· Ensure that all polished metal parts meet specific quality standards, including appearance, smoothness, and uniformity.
· Maintain and clean polishing equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure efficient and safe operation.
· Adhere to safety procedures and wear protective gear such as gloves, goggles, and hearing protection to safeguard against hazards.
· Collaborate with supervisors or quality control teams to ensure polished metal products meet company specifications.
· Keep accurate records of the materials, time, and methods used for each polishing task.
· Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support efficiency and safety in the shop or factory environment.
Requirements:
· Proven experience as a metal polisher or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
· Strong knowledge of polishing techniques and the ability to work with various types of metal surfaces.
· Familiarity with different polishing compounds, abrasives, and equipment.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or specifications.
· Good manual dexterity and attention to detail to achieve precise and uniform finishes.
· Strong problem-solving skills to address defects and imperfections in the metal surfaces.
· Ability to follow safety procedures and work in compliance with health and safety regulations.
· High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
· Physical stamina and strength to handle metal parts and equipment for extended periods.
