RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of daily and monthly transactions/journal entries.
- Gathers data and performs other tasks to support accounts payable function (as directed by Accountant II and above).
- Assist with general accounting tasks
- Performs expense report and reimbursement processing
- Gathers data for daily cash, teller, branch and ATM accounting tasks
- Gathers data for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting and compliance initiative (i.e. monthly internal reports, annual external audit, quarterly Call reports).
- Completes simple GL reconciliations and provides resolution of reconciling/aged items
- Prepares/Updates procedures/job aides for assigned tasks
- Gathers data for accounting studies, analyses, cost studies and accounting system report development
- Gathers data for Accountant II and above for requests for information by other departments
- Work within their team and have a direct impact on their tasks
SKILLS & ABILITY
Knowledge of the following is required
- General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Expenditure and disbursement processes
- Knowledge of credit union accounting systems and internal accounting controls is preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- Learn and discover existing tools and processes to apply them along with their academic knowledge to achieve simple task.
