LOCAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION IN FAIRFIELD IS SEEKING A BOOKKEEPER/FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR. THIS IS A LONG TERM OPPORTUNITY AND THE PAY STARTS AT $28.00 AN HOUR!

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Bookkeeping:
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Process and record all transactions in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP).
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly.
  • Grant Management and Billing:
  • Prepare, submit, and track grant invoices to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Monitor grant expenditures to ensure compliance with grant budgets and funder requirements.
  • Assist with grant reporting and provide financial data for grant proposals and audits.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Generate monthly financial reports for management.
  • Maintain detailed records of restricted and unrestricted funds.
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for annual audits.
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration:
  • Process payroll and ensure accurate allocation of salaries and benefits to grants or programs.
  • Track employee benefits, leave balances, and other related payroll expenses.
  • Compliance and Record Keeping:
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit and funder-specific financial regulations.
  • Maintain organized and accessible financial records for audits and reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
    • Experience with grant billing and compliance is required.
    • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
    • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, including fund accounting and grant management.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Additional Qualifications:
    • Familiarity with federal, state, and local grant requirements (e.g., OMB Uniform Guidance) is a plus.
    Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, funders, and auditors
