Our client in North Hollywood is seeking a Quality Technician!
Job Overview:
The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting the client's facility Quality Lab, to ensure all testing is performed in accordance with Company written Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the execution of multiple projects dealing with the Quality Control Laboratory. The Quality Technician will also perform line inspections to ensure that all products meet company and regulatory standards. This role will support both the laboratory and production floor by conducting tests, inspections, and process monitoring to maintain compliance and product integrity. This role is expected to work onsite regularly.
Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Functions:
- Perform laboratory analysis on finished product and raw materials such as physical testing & wet chemistry methods.
- Monitor and update testing log for what goes out and what is received from third-party testing labs.
- Analyzing batches, testing lab batches and making recommendations for adjustments.
- Perform inventory of laboratory supplies; orders laboratory supplies as needed.
- Making interpretations of data generated and communicating the significance of these experimental results to the manager.
- Completing a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth overall function of the laboratory including reagent and sample preparation, simple equipment maintenance, lab inventory and maintenance of proper records in compliance with SOP’s and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and proper functionality.
- Investigate OOS results, work with R&D and innovations to drive forward a solution.
- Request new raw material samples from R&D for the qualification of the first (1st) vendor lot (purpose of raw material testing qualification)
- Generates bulk and finished product certificate of analysis upon completion of testing.
- Assists with the organization of retained, finished goods, bulk and raw material samples. The setup includes:
- The identification of the type of study (OTC or NON-OTC, Bulk, FG, Raw Materials, etc.)
- The preparation of reports/certificate analysis for raw materials, bulk and finished products in both physical copy and electronic files.
- Assist with bulk pH adjustments
- Investigate client complaints in relation to batch issues. This is a team effort with the Quality Assurance Designee.
- Perform special projects per client requests.
- Performing other job duties, assignments and tasks as directed by the Quality Manager.
Quality Line Inspections:
- Conduct inspections on the production floor to verify adherence to specifications, including weight, appearance, labeling, and packaging.
- Perform in-process checks to identify and address quality issues proactively.
- Work closely with production staff to ensure quality standards are met.
- Document inspection findings and communicate any deviations to the Quality Manager for corrective actions.
- Participate in line clearance activities to prevent contamination and cross-mixing of products.
Qualifications:

- Proficient use of the English language (verbal and written)
- Proficient math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measures, using whole numbers of common fractions and decimals)
- Effective planning and organizing skills

- Knowledge and understanding of quality in a manufacturing environment, as well as laboratory controls and work safety rules/regulations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations with customers, management and other employees of the organization
- Familiarity with GMP, GLP, and industry quality standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to deal with problem solving involving concrete variables situations.
- Ability to maintain a high-level of confidential information in the performance of job duties.
- Ability to always represent the Company in a positive and professional manner.
- High school education or equivalent with 5+ years in the cosmetic manufacturing field. Or AA/BS with scientific emphasis or related experience in a cosmetic (FDA regulated) industry is preferred with a minimum of 3+ years of experience. Any combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills and experience needed to successfully perform the job.

Physical Requirements:
- Communicated orally with management, employee, and customers via one-on-one or group settings.

- Requires standing, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during the course of the work shift.
- Routinely required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, and reach, in the performance of job function.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move between the laboratory and production floor
- Capable of lifting up to 25-30 lbs.
- Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth vision, and ability to adjust focus as needed.
- Periods of Odoriferous environment.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
