Tractor Mechanic Needed for south valley
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform all types of troubleshooting and repairs to powered off-road equipment. This includes gas and diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air systems, A/C systems and computer systems.
- Use analyzers and other computer-based software to troubleshoot all aspects of vehicle function.
- Have training and certification to service and repair A/C systems.
- Drive to the field and work independently to do much of the above tasks.
- Be prepared to work between 45 and 60 hours per week and possible 12 days on 2 days off as needed to support shop and field operations.
- Expect an average number of hours per year to be around 2,400.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

- Education and/or Experience
- High school education required.
- 5-year Diesel Tech School or equivalent desired.
Licenses, Certificates
- Valid current California Drivers' license, with less than two points, required before hire and continuously while employed.
- EPA approved 608 Technician Certification for Air Conditioning desired
Language and Communication Skills
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English; knowledge of Spanish is desired.
- Be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schematics both electrical and hydraulic and procedure manuals.
- Be able to take verbal and written direction from supervisors and effectively communicate back.
- Be able to complete detailed maintenance reports and other technical documents.
- Be able to communicate and work with coworkers.

Equipment
- Almost entirely John Deere along with a fair amount of CAT and AGCO/Fendt and some Detroit, Cummins/PACCAR engines.

Currently working 6 days per week (12 on 2 off, alternating weekends off) 9.5 hours per day during the week and slightly less on the weekends
