CNC Shift Lead
Chatsworth, CA
Full time – Temp to hire
Monday thru Friday – 7am to 3:30pm
$22hr to $30hr depending on experience.
Busy manufacturing supplier of custom, made to print, precision machined products serving the Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, Medical, Electronics and commercial industries is seeking a CNC Shift Lead to join their team in Chatsworth.
Summary: The CNC Department Shift Lead oversees their assigned shift of CNC Operators. This aspect of the role involves examining production efficiencies to ensure schedules and deadlines are met.
Responsibilities:
- Host daily production meeting with team and communicate necessary information to Foreman and Production Manager.
- Lead team in hitting production goals based on machine hour targets.
- Program and setup CNC Machines to First Article approval.
- Troubleshoot program with programmer.
- Hit production and setup efficiency scores of at least 90%.
- Monitor and give direction to CNC Operators during shifts.
- Produce conforming parts per the blueprint and traveler instructions.
- Communicate production status to the next shift.
- Regularly inspect your parts dimensionally and visually to confirm conformality.
- Provide constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department.
- Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
- Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input.
- Assist in the progression of training and plan development of all machinists.
- Responsible for data collection and input of the shift.
- Ensure your shift production floor is clean and tidy.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulation.
- Management may add or remove job requirements at their discretion.
Qualifications:
- Extensive CNC experience.
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize daily work assignments.
- Positive attitude and the ability to work as a team.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.
- Ability to use various inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, and comparators.
- Intermediate understanding of G-Code.
