Purchasing Agent

Camarillo, CA

Full time – Temp to hire

Monday thru Friday – 8am to 5pm

$21 to $23hr depending on experience.

 

Busy manufacturer and designer of interconnection test systems for the aerospace, printed circuit board and telecom industries is looking for a Purchasing Agent to join their team in Camarillo.

 

Summary: Seeking a skilled individual to purchase electrical (aerospace) components and circular connectors. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset. You should know how to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers. Communication skills will help you negotiate effectively and maintain profitable relationships.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price.
  • Obtain recommendations from suppliers for substitute items.
  • Obtain approval from requisitioning department.
  • Submit authorized payments to vendor for purchases.
  • Obtain purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers.
  • Monitor and expedited orders.
  • Verify receipt of items by comparing items received to items orders.
  • Resolve shipments in error with suppliers.
  • Verify purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list.
  • Clarify unclear items; recommend alternatives based on available inventory items by verifying stock, deliveries are scheduled accordingly.
  • Keep information accessible by organization (i.e. must maintain purchasing database), sorting and filing documents.
  • Obtain Certificates from vendors.
  • Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Follow the AS9100 QMS (CKT Quality Management System) processes and procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must know how to use SAP.
  • Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role, (aerospace preferred)
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions
  • Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software (e.g. SpendMap)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong analytical mindset.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
