We have a potential opening for a Maintenance Mechanic position with a seed company in town that specializes in sunflower seed experiments and testing. The client is seeking a highly experienced mechanic with expertise in production machinery, millwright equipment, and some electrical work. The ideal candidate should be familiar with 3-phase motors, capable of diagnosing and troubleshooting machinery, and comfortable reaching out to a technician if needed to walk through the process.
This is a temp-to-hire position based on work performance. The schedule is Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays if necessary. The pay ranges from $40 to $58 per hour, depending on experience.

Full job description
Under the leadership of the Maintenance Manager/Director, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of plant equipment which includes, but is not limited to, work on plumbing, food processing equipment, HVAC, electrical, and high-pressure pasteurization machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Reads, diagnoses, and repairs machinery and equipment using test equipment and hand tools.
Performs preventive maintenance on machinery.
Reads electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, blueprints, and other documents to assist in diagnosing and repairing machinery and equipment.
Keeps accurate records of work that has been completed.
Install new machinery or systems.
Fits and assembles machined parts/subassemblies.
Uses lock-out/tag out procedures when required to maintain safety in the workplace.
Checks assemblies and inspects finished products for quality.
Ensures proper functioning and correct alignment.
Assist to develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
Carries or back up out inspections of the facility to identify and resolve issues.
Monitor’s equipment inventory
Works to ensure all business standards, demands and any regulatory (local, state and/or federal) regulations and/or guidelines are followed.Other responsibilities as delegated by Maintenance Manager or Director.
Job Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience in an industrial environment (manufacturing, Industrial).
Advanced equipment trouble shooting skills are required.
Excellent communication skills include written, verbal, good listener.
Have some knowledge of standard industry regulations.
Working knowledge of industrial electrical and mechanical principles and their operation.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues.
Understanding of PLC Ladder Logic is preferred.
Highly developed skills to include detail oriented, neat, extremely organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Some technical skills such as computer literacy on windows or maintenance programs and systems.
Shows initiative and is a team player.
