Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for an Accounting Manager at a large agricultural company in the Yuba-Sutter area. The Accounting Manager will lead the company’s financial operations, including goal setting, budget management, and collaboration with executives on financial strategies. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial reporting, safeguarding assets, and overseeing administrative and risk-related activities.
Duties and Essential Functions:
- Develop, implement, and organize financial goals.
- Oversee fund investments and manage associated risks.
- Supervise case management and handle mergers and acquisitions.
- Act as the financial gatekeeper.
- Supervise the preparation of the annual budget.
- Monitor and control Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable.
- Prepare quarterly and annual payroll reports (940, 941, DE-9, DE-9c, W-2s, and 1099s).
- Prepare monthly financial statements, packages, and other analytical reports.
- Manage the financial close and reporting processes for multiple entities: monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Provide information to outside accountants for annual reviews and tax return preparation; review and suggest revisions to the financial statements and tax returns.
- Develop and monitor policies and procedures within GAAP and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow, reduce operating costs, and increase revenues.
- Improve profitability by reviewing prior financial results and anticipating future needs and trends.
- Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and comply with GAAP.
Requirements:
- BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of financial experience, preferably in agriculture.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks Desktop.
- Experience with tax planning and estimating tax liabilities.
- Experience with researching, adopting, and implementing financial ERP systems.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
