Lead Grounds/Maintenance Worker – Yuba-Sutter Area
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Lead Grounds/Maintenance Worker for a local organization in the Yuba-Sutter area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to grounds and facilities maintenance. Prior experience in maintenance or landscaping is preferred, but not required as training may be provided to the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and supervise staff performing grounds and building maintenance tasks.
- Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on residential and commercial properties, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Maintain and repair outdoor areas, including landscaping, lawn care, tree and shrub maintenance, and irrigation system upkeep.
- Oversee pressure washing of buildings and removal of graffiti and debris.
- Repair or replace defective fixtures, appliances, or equipment as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on the exterior and interior of units, such as window, door, and roofing repairs.
- Operate and maintain grounds equipment such as mowers, tractors, and power tools.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed, including the use of safety equipment and reporting hazards.
- Work with vendors and contractors on larger repair or improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment/service logs, and supply inventory.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in grounds or landscape maintenance or a similar field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and grounds maintenance (preferred but not required).
- Ability to lead and supervise maintenance/grounds teams.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently while managing multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with proper equipment.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for emergencies.
Compensation:
- Starting pay: $22.11 per hour.
- Full-time position with opportunities for career growth.
Schedule:
- 4/10 schedule: Monday to Thursday, 10-hour shifts.
