Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced commercial Painter! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial painting, including interior and exterior applications. This role requires expertise in surface preparation, paint application, and finishing techniques
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, and removing old paint
- Apply primers, paints, stains, and clear finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Calculate paint quantities and mix paints/stains to achieve required colors and consistencies
- Protect surrounding areas by covering floors, furniture, and fixtures with drop cloths and masking materials
- Apply decorative finishes such as faux finishes, glazes, or multi-color coatings as specified
- Maintain painting equipment and tools in proper working condition
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Complete detailed documentation of time, materials, and work completed
- Identify and report any structural defects or issues that may affect paint application
- Clean work areas and remove all painting materials and debris upon job completion
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2-5 years of commercial painting experience
- Strong knowledge of paint products, application techniques, and industry standards
- Experience with industrial and commercial-grade painting equipment
- Proficiency in surface preparation and paint application methods
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and lifts at various heights
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and procedures
- Strong color matching abilities and attention to detail
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Basic math skills for calculating coverage areas and paint quantities
